Every now and then you'll come across this "HDR" thingy. What the hell is that! Well that my fren is "High Dynamic Range". HUH what the fish is that! Previously it was used mainly in the movie making industries, but now it has ventured to the photography arena. And i must say, when i first saw pics done in HDR, i was totally blown away. Thanks to Daniel Cheong aka DanielKHC! From there i did some research. trial and error to try and achieve what the other greats in HDR has done.
Yah i know i still haven't explain what is "HDR/High Dynamic Range". Well basically the camera(most Digital camera) can only capture a limited amount of dynamic range due to the sensors, unlike our eyes. For example, have you ever shoot from the living room with a window behind the subject on a bright sunny day. What did you get? A well expose foreground but overblown background. But what did you eyes see? I'm sure you're able to see the background too. Thats High Dynamic Range!
So how does it works? Shoot a couple of shots with different exposures, and blend it together. There are some nifty tools out there to help you with it, namely Photomatix and Photoshop CS2/3.
Guess I will stop here for the time being and will continue to babble when i have the time. In future blogging, i will reveal some of my post processing workflow. Maybe a tutorial. So do drop by again.
